Fresno Pacific University is transitioning from Vidgrid to WeVideo as our video hosting and creation platform. WeVideo went live on April 15, 2026. New video creation in Vidgrid was disabled for faculty starting April 16. Vidgrid has now been fully retired and all Vidgrid embeds in Canvas will eventually stop working.

Yes. The migration of videos from Vidgrid to WeVideo is now complete. Select Multimedia Creation from the top menu and then find 'Uploads' to see your videos. Zoom recordings older than 13 months with no plays were not migrated. Note that most old Zoom recordings are class sessions with students from prior semesters, and FERPA laws mean they typically cannot be reused in future courses.

If you notice videos that didn't migrate, you can download the original from Vidgrid and upload it to your WeVideo account. Detailed instructions for this process are available here.

Vidgrid embeds will break. You should begin replacing Vidgrid links and embeds in your active courses with the corresponding WeVideo links as soon as possible. You will find the WeVideo versions of yoru videos in 'Uploads' from the Multimedia Creation sidebar. Academic Program Leads should also update links in master course shells for their programs.

No. Vidgrid was sunset June 30, 2026. All faculty, students, and staff should shift their video workflows to WeVideo.

There are two ways. You can access WeVideo directly from within Canvas LMS by enabling it in your course's Navigation settings. You can also go directly to wevideo.com/sign-in and log in with your university Single-Sign-On (SSO) credentials. Use the Office365 button.

The WeVideo tool is available in the Canvas Rich Content Editor. This means you can embed WeVideo content directly into pages, assignments, discussions, and announcements within Canvas, just as you would with any other external tool in the editor.

Yes. Every active faculty, staff, and student at Fresno Pacific University will have access to WeVideo. Staff who don't use Canvas can access WeVideo directly at wevideo.com/sign-in using their university Single-Sign-On (SSO) credentials. Use the Office365 button.

WeVideo goes well beyond basic video hosting. It includes a full multimedia editing suite with over one million royalty-free stock assets, green screen compositing, multi-track editing, audio mixing, and effects like the Ken Burns animation. It also includes screencasting, real-time collaboration, a classroom management system with assignments, an assignment ideas library, and interactive video features like quiz overlays and branched learning paths.

Interactive videos let you overlay questions (such as multiple-choice), create branched learning paths, and add other interactive elements on top of video content. Faculty and staff have access to these features by default. You can access them by selecting Multimedia → Interactivity from the top-left menu, or by clicking Interactive Videos in the left sidebar. The Certified Educator certification and the April webinars both cover how to get started with interactivity.

Students do not have interactive video features by default, but they gain access to those tools when you create an assignment that invites them to use interactivity. This gives you control over when and how students engage with these more advanced capabilities.

Yes. WeVideo supports real-time collaboration, meaning students can co-edit video or podcast projects from separate devices. You can also set up classes, roster students, invite co-teachers, and create group assignments with collaborative features built in.

Yes. WeVideo includes a wide variety of professionally designed templates to help you get started quickly. You can also create and save your own custom templates to streamline your workflow for future projects.

Start with these steps:

Clear cache & cookies	Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then reload.
Disable extensions	Browser extensions can interfere with the editor and player.
Try incognito mode	Open WeVideo in a private/incognito window to rule out extension conflicts.
Try a different browser	If Chrome isn't working, try Firefox — or vice versa.
Try a different device	If on a tablet, try a desktop or laptop computer.
Try a different network	Switch to a different Wi-Fi network and disable your VPN.
Enable third-party cookies	Some browsers block third-party cookies by default, which can prevent content from loading.

For the best experience, use Chrome on a laptop or desktop. If issues persist, contact support.

If an interactive video uses an external source like YouTube or Vimeo, the video is embedded via an iframe. Most browsers have strict autoplay policies for embedded content, so students may need to click play once for the interactive player and then again for the embedded video itself. WeVideo has built-in autoplay logic to minimize this, but not all LMS environments support it. This is a browser limitation, not a bug.
